Heaven Or Hell: Because Forever Is A Very Long Time
You may say to yourself that you are not so bad, that you are a good person,
that you are active in your community; helping the poor, caring for the
environment, being loving and nurturing to others and responsible for your
obligations, but these are not what gets you saved. Yes, we need to be and do
all of this, but "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our
righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the
wind our sins sweep us away." Isaiah (Chapter 64:6).
We have no excuse for not following God, and we have access to the Bible. Jesus
said "Ask it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door
will be opened to you." Matthew (Chapter 7:7).
If we are not reading the Bible and praying for understanding, wisdom and
guidance, then how do we know when we are being misled?
As in the day of Noah most will miss the boat of salvation (Christ). Jesus said
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that
leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and
narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew (Chapter
7:13,14).
There are many false teachers, false prophets, and false Christ's. There are
many pathways that seem correct, but only in a personal relationship with God,
through Jesus, are we saved. Jesus said "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord,
will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who
is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then
I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"
Matthew (Chapter 7:21-23).
Being a Christian is choosing to be reunited with our Creator through Jesus
Christ.
To know God we must pray through Jesus Christ, our Savior and redeemer.
Meaningful prayers:
Dear Lord, I am a sinner, please forgive me, teach me, and lead in your many
ways as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Dear Lord, I pray for your guidance, so that my path remains straight, so that
my faith remains true, and so that I serve not myself but you. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Our Lord's time is near and now is the time to get that Bible and read beginning
with the New Testament. Sincerely seek the truth with openness and you will grow
spiritually and gain comfort in these troubling times. God's hand is held out
for us and all we need to do is grasp it; so praise God, for our Lord's blessing
and forgiveness for transgressions is ours. Take God's hand and walk in peace,
knowing always of your place which was promised. Pray always, confessing sin to
the Lord and to strengthen your relationship with God, study the Bible,
associate with others who love God in fellowship, and trust in the Lord's
promise of salvation through forgiveness.
Bible quotes are from the New International Version translation. It is
strongly suggested that you use also the King James Version translation for
study and verse/chapter comparison for better understanding. Bible students do
well using both together.
